5K Blind Challenge Run/Walk, McAllen TX

En esta ocasión nos llegó por parte de nuestro amigo Francisco Moreno (francisco26.2@sbcglobal.net) de la South Texas Association for the Blind la convocatoria a personas invidentes o partialmente invidentes para una carrera/trote a beneficio de dicha asociación. (Yo se, yo se, esta carrera no es en Monterrey, pero soy debil, no puedo dejar de promocionar eventos que tienen buenas causas :) )

La carrera será realizada el próximo 27 de Junio a las 7:30 a.m. en Bill Schupp Park en McAllen, Texas (Zinnia west of N. 10th) con un costo de $15.00 USD antes del día del evento y $20.00 el mismo día.

Para los primeros 100 inscritos habrá una playera, ademas de medalla para los primeros 3 competidores de cada categoría ya sea varonil o femenil.

Medals to the first three places in each age division, Male and Female runners

Categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+

Entry fee: $15.00 before June 27th

                 $20.00 on day of race (registration from 6 AM to 7:15 AM)

First 100 registrants will receive a T-shirt

Take the ultimate Blind Challenge. Test your strength, courage and determination. Anyone who would like to take the ultimate Blind Challenge will be blindfolded and teamed up with a sighted guide during the race.

Waiver Statement

I know that running a race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision made by a race official in the run. I assume all risks associated with running in the event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, traffic, road conditions, and all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release SOUTH TEXAS ASSOCIATION for the BLIND, City of McAllen, and all of its sponsors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event even though that liability may arise of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver.
